Stumbled across this little tidbit of helpful information the other week while setting up a version control server at work. Using Subversion on a Mac OS X Leopard Server you need to enable all of the dav_mods in the httpd.conf just enabling the dav_mod_svn will produce an error when starting apached
LoadModule dav_module libexec/apache2/mod_dav.so
LoadModule dav_fs_module libexec/apache2/mod_dav_fs.so
LoadModule dav_svn_module libexec/apache2/mod_dav_svn.so
I initially tried getting this to work about 6 months ago and gave up. There are a few good tutorials online but they all neglected to mention the above piece of information.

Released this today, I fixed a few bugs and actualy came up with instructions that make it work ;) And more imprtantly I tested it before sending it into the wild this time.
Do these to make it work the way I intended it to work.
1. install plugin,
2. enter your church code, and a data exchange user
3. Disable Auto Create Users
Step 3 is needed so Joomla only authenticates against your F1 database and doesn’t create a local joomla user.

A few months ago I wrote an authentication plugin for Joomla 1.5, that uses Fellowshipone weblink accounts to login to a Joomla 1.5.x website. I was planning on integrating this into the next version of our church website but it looks like we may be abandoning Joomla altogether. I wanted to put this out there for anyone else to use.
Download it Here

I worked on this little project for work, but thought it would be nice to release this to the public.

Thursday and I’m starting to drag, as usual information overload as well as food overload starts catching up with you on day 4. Today was a pretty good day though, again the IT sessions weren’t the greatest but the Safari/iPhone web developement sessions were really good.
Over the lunch break I was able to use one of the new Dashcode templates to create an iPhone podcast player for POGpod.com see it at http://www.podpog.com/iApp/
Today I met James G. from Apple, he used to be the head of AppleSeed of which I’m a member. I didn’t know but he has moved on and is now a System Engineer for Apple. Always cool to meet people in person you’ve chatted with.
The bash was great again, the band this year was Bare Naked Ladies. They were good. Talk about crowded… you could barely walk anywhere, so we just hung out with some ISU guys and Colin from DMACC. I also talked more with Jasper, fellow AppleSeed participant, and met a guy in Apple Hardware. His job was to abuse the machines and see what it takes to break them, physically. That would be a really fun job.

Tuesday was a good day. I finally met another fellow AppleSeed tester. I’ve been in the AppleSeed program since 2003 but have never met anyone from the program face to face. Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Jasper, who traveled all the way from the Netherlands to come to WWDC. We had a good time talking and had lunch, we actually do the same job, we both do IT for primary schools.
The sessions on Tuesday were ok. I enjoyed the 2 iPhone/Safari sessions I went to. The one IT track I went to wasn’t really worthwhile, hope they are better today.
Last night I went to our annual Filewave party. They through a nice party for their customers and prospective customers. It is always fun talking with the people who do support (Steve) and code the actual software (Ben). The location was at “Harry Denton’s Starlight Room” at the top of the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. It was pretty luxurious. It had a ballroom and everything. The view was incredible too, a full 360 view of San Francisco. I’d say the place was probably built around the turn of the last century. Here are a couple photos:

Keynote day. Got up at 4:45, got to keynote line about 5:45 line was around the building. Luckily Sheng from ISU was in line so we joined him. By the time we made it into the keynote we were 8 Iowans strong; Sheng, John, Brandon from ISU, Colin from DMACC, Jim and Eric from Startley, and Josh and I.
Iowa Entourage
Keynotes were good. see http://www.apple.com for details :) During the last session I bowed out since it was boring and not relevant. While milling around I see a blast from my past, John Baldwin. The guy who hired me at the Register, propelling me into a serious IT career. I’m still in kind of shock seeing him here. It was great though. I will definitely spend some more time catching up with him the next few days. I introduced him to Jim, that was a little surreal, like a world’s colliding thing.
A pretty awesome day all around though. Got the usual gift from Apple:
